122 FACULTY OF LAWS Students are prepared for the examinations of the University of London in the Faculty of Laws or may bo permitted to attend any of the general lectures in Law or those on special subjects connected with the study of Law which are given from time to time in the College Students taking the courses for the University examinations must enrol as Internal students of the University and the information which follows applies generally to courses for the Internal Degree The lectures are available to External students of the University only by special permission of the Dean and this will be given only in the most exceptional circumstances PROCEDURE FOR ENTRY I-To the Course for the LL Degree Applicants from the United Kingdom seeking admission to the under- graduate courses are advised to consult the booklet Getting into University issued to schools and others by the Universities Central Council on Admissions 29 Tavistock Square London Applica- tion forms will be available in schools from the beginning of the autumn term 1963 One form will suffice for all the universities and colleges served by this Council and must be returned completed to the Council before December 31st Only applicants who have left school should write to the Central Office for form The form will be accompanied by full instructions for completing it All subsequent correspondence with the College concerning entry should be sent direct to the Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Laws and should clearly indicate the applicant's serial number and any course or courses for which application has been made Overseas applicants should in 1963-64 continue to apply to the universities and colleges of their choice either direct or through the offices of the High Commissioner Embassy or Consulate according to current arrangements No further registration of evening students for the Intermediate LL course will be undertaken There is no entrance examination to the College but students enter- ing for the University law degree examinations must have satisfied the general requirements of the University of London The procedure to be followed is the same for all Faculties and is outlined above under General Information on 42 Intending students who think they are eligible to matriculate should apply for their statement of qualification as there directed at the earliest possible date in order to avoid mistake One of the principal grounds for admission is evidence of high intel- lectual quality which may be in any field Subject to this consideration students who intend to read for the Law degree may find it helpful to take
