58 GENERAL INFORMATION of the University of London are automatically entitled to membership on leaving College All past and present members of the Academic Staff may also become members number of functions are arranged during the year These include the annual dinner preceded by the Annual General Meeting and wide variety of activities such as visits to places of cultural or technical in- terest week-end excursions and theatre parties By agreement with the Union Society all members of the Association are members of the Chesham House Club Members receive an annual magazine containing articles of interest by past students or members of the staff college news and news of members Details of the Conversazione Commemoration Week and other func- tions in College which are open to the Association are also circularized Further information may be obtained from the Office Chesham House Surrey Street or from the General Office King's College Strand UNIVERSITY OF LONDON APPOINTMENTS BOARD The University Appointments Board is the official agency set up by the Senate for the purpose of providing advice to students graduates and academic diploma holders of the University about careers other than those in medicine or theology and assistance towards employment The officers of the Board are able to advise students and graduates on all matters relating to employment in the Civil Service and other ad- ministrative services commercial technical and industrial employments teaching and other professional careers Students both men and women are recommended to apply to the Board early in the year in which they intend to take their Final Ex- animations but the officers of the Board are willing to give advice to students at any time during their University courses Interviews can be arranged by appointment both during term and in vacations The fee for registration with the Board is 2s 6d for each six-monthly period Registration forms may be obtained on applica- tion to the Secretary University of London Appointments Board 49 Gordon Square Telephone Euston 7489 The Board also publishes handbook of information Careers for Graduates new edition of this is now in the course of preparation and will be available in the Michaelmas term 1962 THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY All members of the University are entitled to apply to use the Uni- versity Library which is situated at the Senate House Details of the University Library are displayed in the General Library of the College or can be obtained from the University Library
