GENERAL INFORMATION 55 ii If he regards the conduct of the student as generally pre- judicial to the character or welfare of the College request tbe Principal to convene the Court of Discipline referred to in Rule 22 Either Court shall have power to pass sentence either of temporary exclusion or of permanent expulsion from the College The student concerned shall be given an opportunity of attending the meeting of the Court and offering an explanation 24 In all cases in which sentence of expulsion has been passed upon student right of appeal shall lie to the Council as regards Theological students and to the Delegacy as regards all other students 25 The procedure defined in Rules 20 to 24 shall be without prejudice to any action that may be taken under the Regulations made by the Senate for the Board of Discipline of the University 26 Smoking is prohibited within the college buildings except in those places and at those times for which permission has been given by the Principal or as regards the rooms belonging to the Theological Faculty by the Dean 27 Except on Saturdays the College is normally open in term time from to Mondays to Thursdays till 30 on Fridays and in vacations from to On Saturdays the hours are to both in term and vacation Except with the special permission of the Principal or for the purpose of an interview with member of the Academic Staff undergraduates are not allowed to enter or remain in the College buildings when the College is closed Postgraduate research students in the Faculties of Natural Science Medical Science and Engineering may make application to the Secretary through the Head of the Department concerned for authorization to enter or remain in the College buildings at such times and for such periods as are considered necessary for the prosecution of their research Postgraduate students so authorized will be furnished with an appropriate permit which must be shown to the porter at the Gate upon entering and or leaving the College at times when the College is closed 28 Letters addressed to initials or fictitious names at the College are at once returned to the Post Office 29 The College accepts no responsibility for the loss of property not placed in the charge of the recognized Porters 30 No papers or merchandise may be sold within the College precincts without the authority of the Principal 31 All locker keys and keys giving access to Common Rooms and other rooms in the College which have been issued to students remain the property of the College and must in all cases be returned by students when leaving the College In no circumstances may dupli- cate keys be made by students or by tradesmen on behalf of students
