186 FACULTY OF ENGINEERING Aegrotat Degree 24 candidate who has completed his course of study as an Internal student and who has been absent through illness from part of the Final examination for first degree may apply to the University for the award of an Aegrotat Degree in accordance with the following regula- tions Candidates at the Special Sc Eng Examination for 8tu- dents at King's College who have already passed Parts and II and who have completed more than half of Part III of the examina tion are eligible to apply for an Aegrotat Degree ii Applications from or on behalf of students must be accom- panied by medical certificate and should reach the Academic Registrar within seven days from the last day of the examination iii An Aegrotat Degree will not be awarded unless the examiners consider that in the work which the candidate has submitted at such part of the examination as he has attended he reached standard which if also reached in the remainder of the examination would have qualified him for the award of Degree iv An Aegrotat Degree will be awarded without distinction or class Holders of an Aegrotat Degree are not permitted to re-enter for the same examination but may proceed to second or higher degree on complying with the regulations for such degree Note -A student who fails to satisfy the Faculty as to sufficient progress in his work for Part or Part II of the Sc Eng examination will not except for special reasons be allowed to repeat the course II-COURSES FOR THE COLLEGE DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE IN ENGINEERING The courses for the College Diploma and Certificate are identical with those for the Sc Engineering degree-see Regulation no 23 above HI-POSTGRADUATE COURSES Graduates of the University of London and graduates of other Universities may be admitted to courses in the Faculty of Engineering leading to the degrees of Sc Eng and Ph For details concerning admission to and duration of courses and regulations for higher degrees the University Regulations should be consulted IV-CHEMICAL ENGINEERING COURSE course in Chemical Engineering which covers one session may be followed by students who have taken first degree in Engineering
