180 FACULTY OF ENGINEERING COURSES OF STUDY APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION Applicants for admission are advised to consult the booklet Getting into University issued to schools and others by the Universities Central Council on Admissions 29 Tavistock Square London Applica- tion forms will be available in schools from the beginning of the autumn term 1962 One form will suffice for all the universities and colleges served by this Council and must be returned completed to the Council before December 31st Only applicants who have left school should write to the Central Office for form The form will be accompanied by full instructions for completing it Overseas applicants should in 1962-63 only continue to apply to the universities and colleges of their choice either direct or through the offices of the High Commissioner Embassy or Consulate according to existing arrangements The attention of students is called to the General College Rules for which see Table of Contents VACATION WORK Students are expected to spend at least one half of each of their two summer vacations in engineering works The College will assist them as far as possible in obtaining such experience which will be found most valuable in their College work RESEARCH WORK Enquiries regarding facilities for research should be addressed to the Head of the Department concerned I-COURSES FOR THE Sc ENGINEERING DEGREE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LONDON Conditions of Entry Before entering the Faculty to study for the Degree in Engineering it is necessary to be eligible for registration in the University of London and to have satisfied the requirements set out in Section of the Univer- sity Regulations below The College will in addition expect to receive evidence of good general education The procedure to be followed with regard to entrance and registra- tion as an internal student is the same for all Faculties and is outlined above under General Information on page 42 Sc Engineering Degree-Old Regulations Parts II and III of the Sc Eng examination for students of King's College under the Old Regulations see Calendar for 1959-60 will be held for the last time in 1963 Only candidates entering for referred subjects will be permitted to enter for the Part and Part II examination in 1963
