167 FACULTY OF MEDICAL SCIENCE Courses are provided for students reading for the Second Examina- tion for Medical Degrees and the Second Examination in Dental Surgery of the University of London Courses are also provided for selected number of students who have passed the Second Medical Degree examination and who wish to proceed to the Sc Special Degree in Anatomy Biochemistry or Physiology Special advanced courses postgraduate courses and facilities for research are also provided On completing their training in the basic medical sciences at King's College students proceed to one of the following hospitals King's College Hospital Medical School Denmark Hill London St George's Hospital Medical School Hyde Park Corner London Westminster Medical School Horseferry Road London No student is allowed to begin pre-clinical studies at the College who has not also been provisionaUy accepted by one of these hospitals for clinical training One of the advantages of the courses at King's College is the fact that students there are associated with students of five other Faculties in the life of the College during their pre-clinical course ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS Before admission to Degree courses in the Faculty of Medical Science student must Satisfy the University general requirements The procedure to be followed is the same for all Faculties and is outlined above under General Information on page 42 ii Satisfy the additional requirements for direct entry to specific course For direct entry to the Second Medical or Second Dental course these course requirements are the possession of General Certificate of Education which in- eludes passes in Chemistry Physics and Biology or Zoology all three at Advanced Level Provision is also made for graduates of other Universities for persons holding pro- fessional qualifications and for those who qualified for matriculation under former regulations Students entering College are responsible for being conversant with the relevant regulations of the University of London
