courses of study 131 18 International Law of War and Neutrality 19 Law of Taxation 20 Constitutional Laws of the Commonwealth II Commonwealth countries other than Canada Australia India Pakistan New Zealand and Ceylon 21 African Law 22 Law of Mortgages and Charities 23 Illegality and Restitution 24 History of International Law 25 Comparative Criminal Law and Procedure 26 Principles of Civil Litigation The examiners may if they see fit examine any candidate orally LL By Examination with Dissertation in special cases Candidates must submit dissertation which must be record of original work or other contribution to knowledge in some branch of Law The written portion of the examination consists of one paper in any two of the subjects enumerated above candidate may be allowed to take the two papers after the expiration of one calendar year from the time of his taking the LL degree or after pursuing one year's course of study for the LL examination No candidate will be allowed to submit his dissertation until he has satisfied the examiners in the written portion of the examination The examiners may in addition examine the candidate orally on any part of his work or they may set three-hour paper on the wider aspects of the dissertation Ill-FOR THE ACADEMIC POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA The University grants an Academic Postgraduate Diploma in Law to graduates of London and other approved universities who have attended course of study in the University of London extending over not less than one year and have passed the prescribed examination candidate may obtain the Academic Postgraduate Diploma in Law either by passing at one and the same examination in three subjects one from each of the groups enumerated below English Legal Method or with the permission of the Uni- versity one of the subjects for the time being which can be offered for the Master of Laws degree examination II One of the following- General Principles of the Law of Contract and Tort General Principles of Equity Elements of British Public Law
