vi annual report Mr Robinson Article on The Prophetic Teaching on Righteousness and our Preaching January 1960 Reviews Critical Introduction to the Old Testament by Anderson October 1959 The Old Testament in Hebrew by Ν Snaith October 1959 The Latter Prophets by Henshaw October 1959 Archaeology and the Old Testament Pritchard April 1960 Dr Simon The Mysticism of Jeremiah 1960 Mr Smart Religion without God The Listener September 1959 Eight Propositions against the Prevailing Narrowness in British Theology Theology March 1960 Professor Tasker Commentary on St John Tyndale Press 1960 Faculty The session 1959-60 began with 244 students in the Theological Department of whom 26 were women and 16 were men studying for the degree only At the end of the session the Principal's Cup was awarded to the Faculty of Theology for the first time since 1930 This award was in large part recognition of the strenuous efforts of members of the Faculty to give lead to the College in raising funds for the rebuilding of the Lion Club with the result that £5 827 was collected during the year The moving spirit in this was Mr Malcolm Stonestreet who was elected President of the Union Society In addition to their efforts on behalf of the Lion Club the Faculty produced Christopher Fry's play The Firstborn in aid of World Refugee Year and gave two performances in Southwark Cathedral by kind per- mission of the Provost £120 was raised for the Fund The Commemoration Sermon was preached by the Right Reverend Francis Evered Lunt Bishop of Stepney For the second year the Reverend Professor Sparks Profes- sor of the Interpretation of Holy Scripture at Oxford acted as External Examiner for the Examination on behalf of Goldsmiths' Company Travel Awards were made to Mr Brian Grellier and Mr Michael Knibb
