UNIVERSITY OF LONDON KING'S COLLEGE ANNUAL REPORT OF THE DELEGACY FOR THE SESSION 1959-60 Presented 10 the Court and the Senate of the University of London A-GENERAL REPORT the delegacy The following appointment to the Delegacy was made by the Senate in the course of the session Professor Ross representative of the Professorial Board replacing Professor Hey The Hon Sir Arthur Howard was re-elected Chair- man and Sir Angus Gillan was re-elected Vice- Chairman and Treasurer changes in the staff Retirement In appreciation of the long and valued service of Professor Robson Ph Sc who retired at the end of the session the Delegacy carried unanimously the following resolution which was moved by the Prin- cipal Professor Robson came to King's College at the end of the first World War after three years of service in the Royal Flying Corps He obtained his Sc degree with honours in Chemistry in 1920 He was appointed Assistant in Medical Chemistry and two years later Assistant in Biochemistry and Pathological Chemistry in the University of Edinburgh and was there from 1920 to 1927 spending the session 1924-25 as Fellow of the Rockefeller Foundation at the Hospital of their Institution in New York He obtained the Edinburgh Ph in 1924 Dr Robson came back to King's in August 1927 as Lecturer in Chemical Physiology and obtained his London Sc in Biochemistry in 1928 The title of Reader in Biochemistry was conferred on him as from August 1931 With the Faculty of Medicine he was evacuated to Glasgow 1939-40 and to Birmingham 1940-42 While continuing his full-time duties he held commission in the in connection with the work of the University Air Squadrons
