214 FACULTY OF THEOLOGY Persons who desire to study any branch or branches of Theology or to receive partial assistance in preparation for the Students degree may θ admitted subject to the approval of the Dean as Occasional students to such lectures as they desire to attend No student can be admitted to the course who is not qualified Entrance matriculate The procedure to be followed is the same Qualifica- for all Faculties and is outlined above under General tions Information on page 42 Intending students entering for the course only will normally be required to have passed in at least five subjects at General Certifi- cate of Education examination of which at least one must be passed at Advanced level one of these subjects must be English language The attention of all intending students is directed to the Note below under Courses of Study Students must begin their course with the Michaelmas term except by special permission from the Dean All students regular or occasional must register at the College at the beginning of each session Attendance at the lectures prescribed for the various courses is com- pulsory All full-time students are allowed under certain conditions to attend lectures in other Faculties in the College without extra charge Students who are preparing for Holy Orders are reminded that the Bishops require testimonials from three beneficed clergymen in addition to the University degree or the College Associateship and Testamur It is desirable therefore that students should keep themselves within the personal knowledge of three beneficed clergymen during the whole of the three years previous to their application for acceptance as candidates for ordination Students over the age of thirty are reminded that they are regarded by the Church Authorities as being in special category and the acceptance of their candidature by Bishop is required as well as recommendation for training from Board before they can be admitted to the Faculty Notes- The last date for accepting applications for admission is March 31st of the year in which admission is desired ii Accommodation the Dean will arrange accommo- dation for those students who are not able to live at home and there is no need for students to write to him about this matter they will normally hear from the Dean by the end of July
