170 FACULTY OF MEDICAL SCIENCE FOR THE LICENCE IN DENTAL SURGERY OF THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS Candidates desiring to obtain the Licence in Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England are required to comply with the following regulations The following examinations have to be passed under the con- ditions set out in regulations to be obtained from the Secretary to the Conjoint Board Examination Hall 8-11 Queen Square London Preliminary Examination in general education recognised by the Examining Board of the Royal Colleges ii Pre-Medical Examination including Chemistry Physics and Biology conducted by or recognised by the Board iii The First Examination consisting of Part Anatomy and Physiology Part II Special Anatomy and Physiology iv The Second Examination in Dental Prosthetics and the Properties of Dental Materials The Final Examination in Surgery Medicine Pathology and Bacteriology Dental Surgery Pathology and Prosthetics Enquiries concerning the Preliminary Examination in general education should be addressed to the Body conducting the particular examination All enquiries concerning the Pre-Medical Examination the curriculum and qualifying examinations of the Royal Colleges should be addressed to the Secretary to the Conjoint Board as above Registration as student by the General Medical Council does not ipso facto exempt candidate from the conditions of these regulations Candidates are required to have passed recognised Preliminary Examination in general education and the Pre-Medical Examination before beginning the professional subjects of the dental curriculum Candidates are required to complete the dental curriculum ex- tending over not less than four calendar years of study at recognised dental and medical schools and hospitals and to pass the professional examinations in accordance with the regulations after passing the Pre- Medical Examination The examinations of the Royal Colleges are conducted three times year The dates on which the examinations are held are published annually in the calendar of the Examining Board in England which may be obtained free of charge from the Director of Examinations
