GENERAL INFORMATION 167 ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS Before admission to Degree courses in the Faculty of Medical Science student must Satisfy the University minimum entrance requirements The procedure to be followed is the same for all Faculties and is outlined above under General Information on page 42 ii Satisfy the additional requirements for direct entry to specific course For direct entry to the Second Medical or Second Dental course these additional requirements are the possession of General Certificate of Education which includes passes in Chemistry Physics and Biology or Zoology all three at Advanced Level Provision is also made for graduates of other Universities for persons holding pro- fessional qualifications and for those who qualified for matriculation under former regulations Students entering College are responsible for being conversant with the relevant regulations of the University of London PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION The selection of candidates for admission to the Faculty of Medical Science of King's College is operated in conjunction with the Medical Schools of our three associated hospitals Men and women wishing to attend King's College for training in the basic medical sciences should apply direct to the hospital of their choice King's College Hospital St George's Hospital Westminster Hospital Prospectuses and application forms of these Hospitals may be obtained free and post free from the Secretary of the Medical School of each Hospital Selected applicants for admission to the Degree course of the University of London at King's College and at any one of the associated hospitals will be interviewed by Committee consisting of representatives of the College and of the Hospital Medical School PERIOD OF STUDY The period of study in the Faculty of Medical Scienoe at King's College extends over five terms for medical students and three terms for dental students Basic medical training in Anatomy Physiology Biochemistry and Pharmacology is provided At the completion of those studies the Second Examination for Medical Degrees or the Second Examination in Dental Surgery is normally taken Students are allowed two attempts at the Second Medical Examina- tion and at the Second Examination in Dental Surgery if unsuccessful at the second attempt they are normally required to withdraw from the College
