COURSES OF STUDY 145 Special Degree Courses One main subject must be selected from the following Mathematics Botany Geography Physics Zoology Chemistry Geology The College does not provide Special Degree courses in Anthropology Astronomy or Statistics Reference should be made to the prospectus of the Faculty of Medical Science for information as to the conditions under which Anatomy and Physiology can be taken as main subjects The ancillary subjects which are to be taken with the respective main subjects are as followsf No ancillary subject is required with main Mathematics With main Physics ancillary Mathematics is compulsory and no other ancillary subject may be taken With main Chemistry two ancillary subjects are required namely Physics studied for two years and Mathematics studied for one year With main Botany two ancillary subjects must be chosen from Chemistry Geology Mathematics Physics Physiology Statistics Zoology Normally Chemistry must be studied for two years and the second subject for one year With main Zoology either one two-year ancillary subject or two one-year ancillary subjects may be offered chosen from Anthropology Botany Chemistry Geography Geology Mathematics Physics Physiology Psychology At King College one two-year ancillary course will normally be preferred With main Geology either two one-year ancillary subjects or one two-year ancillary subject must be taken chosen from Biology Botany Chemistry Physics Zoology Geography Mathematics Where two subjects are offered at least one must be chosen from the first five and Biology must not be offered with Botany or Zoology Biology and Geography may not be offered as two-year ancillary subjects With main Geography one two-year ancillary subject is required which will normally be Geology In exceptional cases one of the alternative subjects permitted by the University regulations may be offered No change in the one-year or two-year ancillary subjects selected on admission to the course may be made unless the approval of the Head of the Department and of the Sub- Dean of the Faculty has been obtained Students in the Faculty of Natural Science cannot at present be accepted for courses for the Sc Special degree in Anatomy or Physiology King's College does not provide courses in these subjects but arrangements may be made for them to be taken at another college on an intercollegiate basis
