124 FACULTY OF LAWS LL COURSE The course for the LL degree extends over three years The Intermediate Examination is taken at the end of the first year and the two parts of the Final Examination at the ends of the second and third years respectively Particulars of these examinations will be found below under the heading Courses of Study LL candidate may obtain the LL degree either by passing at one and the same Examination in any four of the specified subjects or in special cases by passing at one and the same Examination in any two of the specified subjects and in addition submitting dissertation An applicant for admission to tbe College as an internal student for the LL degree must be an internal graduate in Laws of the University of London or δ be an external graduate in Laws of the University of London or have passed an equivalent degree examination in Common Law in another university and have been registered under the University Regulations for Postgraduate Students proceeding to Higher Degree Course candidate for the degree of LL by examination above who is an internal graduate in Laws of the University of London and has obtained first class honours or second class honours upper division may present himself for examination after following an approved course of study for at least one year Course All other candidates including all internal graduates wishing to obtain the degree by examination and dissertation must follow an approved course of study for at least two years Ph candidate for registration for the Ph degree in Laws must have previously obtained the LL degree with first class honours or the LL degree of the University of London or an equivalent degree of another University The minimum period of study is two years LL candidate for the LL degree must have previously obtained the LL or the Ph degree in the Faculty of Laws as an Internal Student Nevertheless candidate who has obtained the LL degree as an Internal Student may in exceptional circumstances be exempted from this requirement on the ground of published work
