122 FACULTY OF LAWS Students are prepared for the examinations of the University of London in the Faculty of Laws or may be permitted to attend any of the general lectures in Law or those on special subjects connected with the study of Law which are given from time to time in the College Students taking the courses for the University examinations must enrol as Internal students of the University and the information which follows applies generally to courses for the Internal Degree The lectures are available to External students of the University only by special permission of the Dean and this will be given only in the most exceptional circumstances The University of London is an approved Law School for the purposes of the Solicitors Act 1932 Further information is given below under the heading Exemptions-Articled Clerks PROCEDURE FOR ENTRY I-To the Course for the LL Degree Applications for admission to the undergraduate course must be received if possible before 31st December next before the proposed date of entry and in any case not later than 31st January Applications received after that date can be considered only in special circumstances No further registration of evening students for the Intermediate LL course will be undertaken There is no entrance examination to the College but students entering for the University law degree examinations must have satisfied the minimum entrance requirements of the University of London The procedure to be followed is the same for all Faculties and is outlined above under General Information on 42 Intending students who think they are eligible to matriculate should apply for their statement of qualification as there directed at the earliest possible date in order to avoid mistake Students who intend to read for the Law degree are advised to take History Latin and English among their subjects at the examination for the General Certificate of Education at either Ο or level It is important that candidates for the examinations of the Univer- sity of London should make themselves thoroughly acquainted with the Regulations of the University regarding registration attendance at recognised courses filling in schedules payment of examination fees and other matters Copies of the Regulations may be obtained from the Academic Registrar University of London Senate House London
