90 PRIZES The Prizes will be awarded annually on the result of special test in reading and recitation In making the award the manner in which candidates have used their voices during their teaching practice will also be taken into account JOHN WILLIAM ADAMSON PRIZE The Prize in memory of John William Adamson Professor of Education from 1903 to 1924 was founded by members of his family The Prize consists either of books or of grant to meet the expenses of research in education to the value of about £10 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who in the opinion of the Principal and the Head of the Department of Edu cation shall have most distinguished himself in the practice and theory of teaching V-IN THE FACULTY OF LAWS HAROLD POTTER PRIZE The Prize was instituted in 1951 under the terms of the will of Pro- fessor Harold Potter Head of the Department of Laws from 1930 and Dean of the Faculty from 1938 The Prize consists of books to value to be determined annually The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who in the opinion of the Principal and the Dean of the Faculty of Laws shaU have attained most distinction in the course and examination for English Land Law whether taken at Part or Part II of the LL examination VI-IN THE FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCE A-Prizes in Natural Science open to all Regular Students of the College DREW GOLD MEDAL AND PRIZE FOR MATHEMATICS See under Prizes in the Faculty of Arts CARTER GOLD MEDAL AND PRIZE FOR BOTANY This Prize was founded in 1879 under the will of George Redsull Carter The Prize consists of gold medal and books to the joint value of about £15 The Prize is open to all regular students in all Faculties of the College who have attended for at least two years at the College The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who in the opinion of the Principal and the Professor of Botany shall have most distinguished himself in written and practical work in Botany during the year
