84 PHIZES-THEOLOGY ARCHIBALD ROBERTSON PRIZE This Prize was founded in 1931 in memory of the Right Rev Archibald Robertson Principal of the College from 1897 to 1903 and afterwards Bishop of Exeter who bequeathed £100 to the Council for the benefit of the Theological Faculty The Prize consists of books to the value of £4 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who shall in the opinion of the Dean of King's College have most distinguished himself in the second year of the Course or the first year of the Course or the first year of the two-year course for graduates and men in Holy Orders ELOCUTION PRIZE This Prize was founded by the Council in 1933 The Prize of the value of £1 10s is awarded annually on the result of competition The Prize is open to students in the second year of the course Every Candidate must produce Certificate from the Lecturer in Elocution of satisfactory attendance at the Elocution Classes or of exemption by him from such attendance ii of competence in reading list of approved candidates will be drawn up by the Lecturer in the Lent term of each session and the Examination will be held in the Easter term SHELFORD PRIZE Founded by the will of Mrs Alice Mary Shelford who died on April 12th 1950 and left £400 to provide prizes or otherwise for the assistance and encouragement of theological students of King's College London as memorial to her late husband the Reverend Leonard Edmund Shelford The Prize or Prizes will consist of books to the value of about £12 The Prizes will be awarded to the Final Year student or students who in the opinion of the Head of the Department of the Philosophy of Religion shall have shown the best performance in this subject through- out their course in College
