180 FACULTY OF ENGINEERING COURSES OF STUDY This Faoulty provides systematic course of study of University character for those intending to devote themselves to Engineering The scientific principles which underlie all branches of Engineering together with the methods of applying those principles are taught in carefully graduated courses extending normally over three years arranged so as to give preparation for those wishing to take the degree of So in Engineering of the University of London and the Diploma or Certificate of the College The last date for accepting applications for admission is January 31st of the year in which admission is desired The attention of students is called to the General College Rules or which see Table of Contents Students are expected to spend at least one half of each of their two summer vacations in engineering works The College will assist them as far as possible in obtaining such experience which will be found most valuable in their College work Students are reminded that their College course represents only part of their education as engineers and that substantial part of their training must of neoeesity be obtained in actual engineering work Enquiries regarding facilities for research should be addressed to the Head of the Department concerned I-COURSES FOR THE Sc ENGINEERING DEGREE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LONDON Conditions of Entry Before entering the Faculty to study for the Degree in Engineering it is necessary to have qualified to matriculate in the University of London and to have satisfied the requirements set out in Section of the University Regulations below The College will in addition expect to receive evidence of good general education
