CLASSES 177 A-Courses of Biochemistry Theory and Practical as part of Sc Hons Physiology Facilities are available for students who wish to study for post- graduate degrees Ph in Biochemistry PHARMACOLOGY Reader and Head of the Department Dr Brownlee Sc Ph The following courses of instruction are given Yt-A systematic course of lectures in autonomic Pharmacology First year -Easter term Y2-A course of lectures in general Pharmacology supplemented by lecture-demonstrations and films Second year -Michaelmas and Lent terms Y3-An experimental course in practical Pharmacology with indi- vidual tutorial instruction Second year --Michaelmas and Lent terms SY4-A practical course in Pharmacology for Dental Students Michaelmas and Lent terms Examinations -Class examinations are held at the end of the Michael- mas and Lent terms Facilities are offered to suitable graduates to proceed to the degrees of Sc and Ph in Pharmacology All enquiries should be addressed to the Head of the Department PHYSIOLOGY Head of the Department Professor McDowall Sc Edin The following courses of instruction are given Yj-General course of Leotures in Physiology lst year Michaelmas Lent and Easter terms 2nd year Michaelmas and Lent terms The lst year course is designed to suit those beginning the subject and deals with it systematically In the 2nd year course the more difficult parts of the subject are dealt with and more time is spent on those aspects of the subject which are more closely allied to Medicine and Surgery The lectures are supplemented by tutorial classes and by lecture demonstrations Y2-Practioal Physiology Each student must provide himself with set of minor accessory instruments but the microscopes and materials including slides are supplied in the laboratory
