174 FACULTY OF MEDICAL SCIENCE CLASSES The times and rooms of all classes will be given on time-table on the Faculty notice-board The following signs are used to indicate the nature of the courses Ī”-First Examination for Medical Degrees Y-Second Examination for Medical Degrees A-Final Sc Special or Postgraduate S-Other courses The number of hours shown after any course is the number given to that course weekly BOTANY Head of the Department Professor Thomas Archibald Bennet-Clark Ph Biol This Course comprises lectures and practical work in Botany required for the lst Examination of the University of London Pt-Lectures hrs The Lectures treat of the general principles of plant morphology histology physiology cytology heredity and evolution -Practical Work hrs In the practical class students will examine the structure of the tissues and organs of the various types prescribed for the First Medical Examination the work being arranged in connection with the lectures CHEMISTRY Head of the Department Donald Holkoyde Hey Ph Sc Daniell Professor Students intending to sit for the lst Examination will attend lecture course on General Chemistry -3 hrs and will work in the Chemical Laboratories for six hours week during the Michaelmas term and three hours week during the subsequent terms For Second students special course in Organic Chemistry is provided in the Department of Biochemistry
