156 FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCE The subjects treated are as follows -morphology and physiology cytology genetics classification and ecology of plants Zs-Practical Class hours throughout one session II-B So General Part II and Subsidiary Z3-Lectures At least hours throughout two sessions The courses cover the various aspects of Botany indicated in above Z4-Practical Class hours throughout two sessions ΠΙ-B Sc Special Part A2-Two-year courses Lectures at least hrs Laboratory work hrs The courses cover the various aspects of Botany indicated in above IV-B Sc Special Part II A3-One-year course Lectures will be given on plant physiology and biochemistry cytology genetics ecology mycology and bacterio- logy Laboratory work covering the above subjects and general plant anatomy and morphology will occupy at least 12 hours A4-Field Class in Ecology This class meets normally on Saturdays during the Summer term for course of practical work on British Vegetation It is followed when possible by further course lasting one week in July during which some area in England or Wales is studied ecologically Attendance at this July course is compulsory for all Sc Special students in their first and second years BOTANY and ZOOLOGY Biology Ancillary to Chemistry or Geology Z3 Z4-Lectures and Practical Class hours throughout one session Class for students requiring Biology ancillary to Sc Special Chemistry conducted by the Departments of Botany and Zoology jointly
