84 prizes-theolog Mbicbelow IReabino ri3es These Prizes were founded in 1917 under the will of the Rev James Shearer Whiehelow Viear of St James' Muswell Hill who bequeathed £100 to found Prizes for Proficiency in Public Reading for students in the Theological Department of the College The Prizes consist of standard works in Theology Two Prizes will be allotted if sufficient merit is shown and may be either First and Second Prize or two Prizes of equal value The Prizes are open to all students in the final year of the course for the Associateship in Theology Every Candidate must produce Certificate from the Lecturer in Elocution of satisfactory attendance at the Elocution Classes or of exemption by him from such attendance ii of competence in reading list of approved candidates will be drawn up by the Lecturer in the Lent term of each session and the Examination will be held in the Easter term The Examination will be taken in book of the Bible and ii selection of the printed Sermons of great Preacher These books will be selected from year to year and announced some time before the competition takes place The Examination will be con- ducted by members of the Theological Professorial Board Bisbop Collins IDemorial lpri3e This Prize was founded in 1920 by the Theological Society from funds subscribed by the colleagues and old students of William Edward Collins Bishop of Gibraltar Professor of Ecclesiastical History in King's College from 1893 to 1903 The Prize which is of the value of £2 10s is open to regular students of the Theological Faculty in their second and third year course for the final examination No student may obtain the Prize second time The Prize will be awarded for the best Essay submitted by the candidates on prescribed subject in Ecclesiastical History Essays must be sent to the Secretary of the College not later than date to be announced on the Faculty notice-board Subject for Session 1951-52 The work of diocesan bishop in the reign of Queen Elizabeth Subject for Session 1952-53 The conversion of Constantine
