prizes-theology 83 UGlorbewortb OLatin ri3e The Council gives Prize to the Faculty of Theology each year in memory of Bishop Wordsworth by whom for some years the Prizes were presented The Prize which is of the value of £3 3s will be awarded annually on an examination early in the Easter term The examination will consist of one three-hour paper containing passages for translation from Latin into English and one passage for translation from English into Latin No winner of the Prize may enter for it on subsequent occasion Students who wish to be considered as candidates for the Prize must send their names to the Dean before the end of the Lent term fl lumptre pri3e for JEnglisb Xangnacie anb Xiterature The friends and former pupils of the Very Rev Edward Hayes Plumptre Dean of Wells formerly Professor of Pastoral Theology at King College presented to the College the sum of £128 9s 5d for the purpose of founding Prize to bear his name The Prize which is of the value of £5 is open to regular students of the Theological Faculty in their second and third year course for the final examination No student may obtain this Prize second time The Prize will be awarded for the best Essay submitted by the candidates Essays must be sent to the Secretary of the College not later than date to be announced on the Faculty notice-board Subject for Session 1951-52 English Religion in the Barchester יי novels of Anthony Trollope Subject for Session 1952-53 Sir Thomas Browne Beligio Medici
