53 GENERAL INFORMATION cultural or industrial interest week-end excursions theatre parties and dances By agreement with the Union Society all members of the Association are members of the Chesham House Club Members receive circular letters containing college news of general interest and also Register of membership They are asked to notify the Hon Secretary of changes of address and occupation so that details may be included in the annual supplements to the Register The Engineering and Laws branches arrange additional activities and publish annually the King's Engineer and King's Counsel The annual subscription is nominal 5s for third year students and first year graduates and 7s for others plus any branch subscription Those wishing to join should communicate with the Hon Secretary King's College Strand London REGISTER OF GRADUATES All former students of University of London King's College or of the Theological Department of King's College who have been for not less than three years regular students of the College and who are either Graduates or Associates or have gained the College Certificate or Diploma in Engineering or the Diploma of the Conjoint Examining Board of the Royal Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons are allowed to retain their names on the College books on payment of registration fee of Ā£1 10s and are accorded the following privileges Admission to College lectures and classes exclusive of laboratories at reduction of 20 per cent in the fees ii The use of the Library free of charge during the period of study iii The receipt of copy of the College Annual Report APPOINTMENTS BOARD The University Appointments Board is the official agency set up by the Senate of the University for the purpose of providing advice and assistance to students graduates and academic diploma holders of the University in relation to careers and employment other than those in medicine or theology The officers of the Board are able to advise students and graduates on all matters relating to employment in Civil Service Colonial Service and other administrative services commercial technical and industrial employments scholastic and other professional careers Students both men and women are recommended to get in touch with the Board early in the year in which they intend to take their Final examinations but the officers of the Board will be willing to give advice to students at any time during their University course Interviews can be arranged at any time by appointment both during term and in vacations The fee for registration with the Board for employment assistance is 2s 6d for each month period In addition the Board issues weekly Bulletin of current vacancies for which an additional charge of 2s 6d for each months is made Registration forms may be obtained on application to the Secretary University of London Appointments Board The Senate House Telephone MUSeum 6682-3 or MUSeum 8000
