GENERAL INFORMATION 47 VIII- Lodgings Any student whose home is not in London and who cannot make arrangements to live with friends or in Hall of Residence is invited to apply to the University of London Lodgings Bureau 28 Woburn Square MUSeum 2818 The Bureau acts in purely advisory capacity All addresses on the Register which covers most London districts are visited and carefully classified Every effort is made to meet the requirements of each individual student but owing to the present shortage of rooms in London it is not possible to guarantee that the exact type of accommo- dation desired can be provided Unfurnished rooms are generally outside the province of the Bureau The Lodgings Officer prefers to see students but if this is not practicable they should write giving details of the type of accommoda- tion required when every effort will be made to provide an address at which there is suitable vacancy Interview hours are between 10 30 and noon and from 30 to Saturday afternoons excepted It is advisable to make an appointment in advance IX- Addresses All students are required to inform the College Office of their addresses at the beginning of the session In their own interests students are required to notify the College Office at once of any change Letters for students in College are sent to the Union Society premises in the Chesham and students should call there for them STUDENTS' LOCKERS Lockers for the use of students are placed in the corridors in the lobby leading to the Anatomical Department and in some of the class- rooms student of the Engineering Faculty may also have the use of drawer in the Drawing Office Looker Keys are issued under the following conditions Each Regular Student is entitled to locker for the period of his academic course provided this does not exceed five years deposit of five shillings is charged which will be returned to the student upon his leaving College provided he empties the locker and returns the key If the key be not returned before the student leaves College the deposit will be forfeited Each student will be required to pay for any wilful damage to his locker or drawer No tradesman may be brought in to repair such damage duplicate key of each locker is kept in the College Office In no circumstances may duplicate keys be made by or on behalf of students Any student losing his key will be required to pay 6d for new lock broken key should be brought to the College Office when it will be replaced at cost price
