186 FACULTY OF ENGINEERING 19 Students desiring to apply for any exemption in respect of courses of study or of examination must apply to the University through the authorities of King's College Notes An internal student who has been absent through illness from part of the final examination for first degree may apply to the University for the award of an UCgrotat Degree in accordance with the University Regulations on the ZEgrotat Degree copy of which may be seen on application to the College Office student who fails to satisfy the Faculty as to sufficient progress in his work for Parts and II of the Sc examination will not except for special reasons be allowed to repeat the course Information regarding courses and examinations for candidates completing their courses under the old regulations may be obtained from the College Calendar for 1946-47 II-COURSES FOR THE COLLEGE DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE IN ENGINEERING The courses for the College Diploma and Certificate are identical with those for the Sc Engineering degree-see Regulation no 18 above Ill-POSTGRADUATE COURSES Graduates of the University of London and graduates of other Universities are admitted to courses in the Faculty of Engineering lead- ing to the degrees of Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy For details concerning admission to and duration of courses and regulations for higher degrees the University Regulations should be consulted IV- CHEMICAL ENGINEERING COURSE course in Chemical Engineering which at present covers one session may be followed by students who have taken first degree in Engineer- ing or Chemistry The course leads to the College Diploma in Chemical Engineering Particulars are given on pages 202-207 which are issued separately as leaflet V- SPECIAL LECTURES AND COURSES Special Lectures are arranged and are given during the session by specialists in subjects connected with Civil Mechanical Electrical and Chemical Engineering These lectures unless otherwise stated are free to students of the Engineering Faculty of the College and are also open to other persons without fee VI-ADDITIONAL LECTURES Additional lectures are given in the Structure and Organization of Industry and Works Organization
