COURSES OP STUDY 185 Group Civil Structures and Soil Mechanics Strength and Elasticity of Materials Geology and Soil Classification An individual problem Group Β Mechanical Heat Engines Theory and Design of Machines Strength and Elasticity of Materials An individual problem Group Electrical Electrical Machinery Electrical Power Electrical Measurements and Telecommunications An individual problem In addition Group will include general lecture course in Metal- lurgy and Groups Β and will include similar course in Geology Provision may be made in appropriate cases for the study of other subjects 14 The degree will be awarded on the combined results in Parts II and HI The examiners shall fix the minimum combined aggregate of marks in the Part II and Part III examinations required for the award of First Class and Second Class Honours candidate who fails to obtain the minimum aggregate of marks for Honours may be recom- mended for the award of Pass Degree 15 Reference in Part III will not be permitted but if candidate fails he will be permitted to present himself for the whole of Part III in any subsequent year 16 Before the conferment of the degree upon candidates who have passed the examinations of the University the authorities of King College shall certify that each candidate has satisfied all the require- ments of the College and of the University 17 diploma for the degree of Sc Eng under the Seal of the University shall be delivered to each candidate who has passed after the report of the examiners shall have been approved by the Senate 18 The Bang's College London Diploma in Engineering will be awarded to candidates who succeed in obtaining an Honours degree and the King's College London Certificate in Engineering will be awarded to candidates who obtain Pass degree provided however that the candidates have complied with any requirements other than passing examinations laid down by the authorities of the College No further classification of the Diploma or Certificate will be made but in accordance with the established practice of the College the parchments will record the standard attained in each subject offered for the examination
