CLASSES 155 -Field Class in Ecology This class meets normally on Saturdays during the Summer and Autumn terms for course of practical work on British Vegetation It is followed when possible by further course lasting one week in July during which some area in England or Wales is studied ecologically ZOOLOGY Head of the Department Professor James Frederic Danielli Ph Sc Biol I-B Sc General and Ancillary Two-year Course -Lectures to hrs The fundamental facts and principles of Systematic Zoology Com- parative Anatomy Physiology Cytology Genetics Ecology and Embryology Zt-Practical Class General or Subsidiary to hrs Praotical Examination by dissection or otherwise of typical animals in illustration of the Lectures with special reference to the types prescribed by the University Embryology Cytology Physiology and methods of microscopical investigation staining section-cutting mounting &c II- Sc Special Three-year Course A-Lectures and Practical Classes as for Sc General with additions for the first two years Special classes arranged as required Third-year course with specialisation in Physiology Ecology Embryo- logy Parasitology or Entomology III- Field Work Members of the staff conduct classes lasting for about week in the Easter and Summer vacations These deal both with marine and with terrestrial including fresh-water fauna All students are expected to avail themselves of the instruction given Occasional week-end expeditions are also arranged in term time
