FACULTY OF ARTS 119 Additional maintenance grants may be awarded by the Ministry of Education to Recognised Students who are not under twenty-five years of age when admitted to the course In such cases the amount would be determined by the Minister according to the circumstances of each case Applications for entry to the course can be made by graduates or by students in the last year of their degree course on special form which must be sent in not later than January 15th of the year in which the scholarship is to be awarded Selected candidates will be inter- viewed during the Lent term All grant-earning students must sign Declaration that they intend to take teaching post in school or institution approved by the Ministry of Education The Advanced Study of Education Courses in preparation for the Academic Diploma and the and Ph degrees in Education The courses for the degree begin in October of each session and include courses for the Academic Diploma in Education It is required of candidates that they present themselves for the examination for this Diploma in order to qualify for acceptance for the degree itself The courses are carried on in conjunction with the Institute of Educa- tion Students are required to attend an approved course of study For the Academic Diploma this extends over not less than one academic year for full-time students and not less than two academic years for part-time students For the an approved course of study is again necessary the required duration being two academic years full- time or three part-time Intending students should first consult the regulations of the Univer- sity and then seek an interview with the Head of the Department In tho case of applications these interviews are most conveniently arranged toward the end of September but the course for the Ph can be begun in any term of the session Those who desire to pursue their studies in Education on the Psycho- logical side are advised to apply for registration in the first instance to the University of London Institute of Education Malet Street Annual fees for Academic Diploma Fees Registered Graduates of King's College Part-time Full-time £ £ 16 16 11 16 16 All other graduates Part-time Full-time £ £ 11 22 14 14 22
