COURSES OP STUDY 71 III- IN THE DEPARTMENT OP EDUCATION course in professional training extending over one session three terms is open to all men and women graduates of recognised uni- versities who are accepted by the Head of the Department Details of the classes are given on page 75 and full particulars of the Depart- ment and of the Board of Education grants tenable in the Department are given on pages 89-91 The Institute of Education also offers four-year grants available for men and women tenable for degree courses at King College followed by professional training at the Institute Full particulars may be obtained from the Secretary University of London Institute of Education 42 Portman Square London Early application is advisable IV- FOR THE DIPLOMA FOR JOURNALISM The two-year course for the University of London Diploma for Journalism is discontinued during the war V-FOR THE DIPLOMA IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE Under scheme of studies sanctioned by the University for Diplomas in the Humanities the English Department at King's College will if required provide full-time day course for the University Diploma in English Language and Literature Admission to the course will be restricted to such students as are considered by the College authorities to be qualified to benefit by attendance at the lectures of tho Honours course The course for the Diploma lasts for one full session and the University examination is held in June Intending candidates should write to the Head of the English De- partment King's College
