PRIZES-MEDICAL SCIENCE 63 1bu£le£ pri3e in fl bESioloo& The Huxley Prize founded in memory of Professor Thomas Henry Huxley former student of Charing Cross Hospital Medical School has been transferred by the Authorities of the School to King's College London The Prize is of the value of £3 given in books or money The Prize will be awarded annually to the regular student who during the second year of study in Physiology shall have most dis- tinguished himself in that subject at the Class Examinations and in the Practical Classes 3ncbles fl ri3e in pbarmacoloas This Prize was founded in 1925 by Dr Orlando Inchley Head of the Department of Pharmacology The Prize consists of books or instruments to the value of £5 The Prize is open to all regular medical students who within two years of passing the First Examination for Medical Degrees or the Pre-Medical Examination of the Conjoint Board have completed the College course in Pharmacology The Prize will be awarded annually upon the results of the Class Examination in Pharmacology flMcfterinQ fl ri3e in JSiocbemistrp This Prize was founded in 1936 by Dr John William Pickering Fellow of the College and Honorary Lecturer in Hsematology The Prize consists of books or instruments to the value of £6 The Prize will be awarded annually to the regular student who during the second year of study in Biochemistry shall have most distinguished himself in that subject at the Class Examinations Barbara Wigles Ibemorial pri3e This Prize was founded in 1939 by the Rev Wigley and Mrs Wigley in memory of their daughter Barbara student in the Faculty of Medical Science who died on 27th January 1939 at the age of 20 before completing her course for the 2nd Examination The Prize consists of books or instruments to the value of about £7 provided that book bearing the book-plate of the Barbara Wigley Memorial Prize shall in every case form part of the Prize The Prize will be awarded annually to the woman student in the Faculty of Medical Science who shall have most distinguished herself in the 2nd Examination of that year
