SCHOLARSHIPS-MEDICAL SCIENCE 41 IRabbetb flfcebical Scbolarsbips Founded in 1885 by John Edward Rabbeth of Middleton Lodge Putney in memory of Samuel Rabbeth Lond distinguished former student of the School and Medical Faculty who sacrificed his life in an attempt to save child who was dying from diphtheria Two Scholarships one of £30 and one of £15 each for one year will be offered annually The Scholarships will be awarded to the Students who in their first year acquit themselves best in the Class Examinations in the Course for the First Examination for Medical Degrees in the University of London The payments will be made in three equal instalments provided the Scholar continues in attendance as regular student in the Faculty of Medical Science and produces to the Secretary at the end of each term certificate of good conduct and satisfactory progress signed by the Dean of the Faculty Sambroofce Scbolarsbip Scholarship of £30 per annum for three years will be offered annually to Candidates entering the Faculty of Medical Science Candidates must be under 19 years of age on December 31st pre- ceding the examination The Scholarship is open to men and women The subjects of the examination are the writing of an English Essay and three of the following -English History Latin Greek French German Pure Mathematics Applied Mathematics Physics Chemistry Botany Zoology Biology Candidates offering Botany or Zoology may not offer Biology also The successful candidate will be required to enter the Faculty of Medical Science at King's College as an Internal Student of the University of London in October next following the examination with the understanding that he will proceed to King's College Hospital for his Clinical studies and in due course proceed to the Degrees of in the University of London The payments will be made in nine terminal instalments provided the Scholar continues in attendance as regular student in the day classes and produces to the Secretary at the end of each term certificate of good conduct and of satisfactory progress signed by the Dean of the Faculty If the holder of the Scholarship has completed his College course before the expiry of nine terms after the date of entry to the College the payment of the remaining terminal instalments of the Scholarship will be made on the production to the Secretary at the end of each term of certificate of good conduct and of satisfactory progress signed by the Dean of King's College Hospital Medical School The Examination is conducted by the London Inter-Collegiate Scholarships Board and will be held in May Entry forms should be ob- tained from the Secretary of the Board Mr Wallace LL University of London Examination Halls Imperial Institute Road London before March 14 1945 B2
