GENERAL INFORMATION 25 and Table Tennis Clubs the Cercle Frangais the German Society the Literary Society the Musical and Dramatic Society International Student Service and the Student Federation for International Co- operation The several athletic clubs are governed by captains and officers elected by their members Matches both home and away are arranged as far as war conditions permit The finances of all affiliated societies are under the control of the Executive Committee of the Union Society which with the assistance of its Finance Sub-Committee determines the amount of the grant to be made to each club from its funds From time to time debates and functions of social nature are arranged with view to promoting the corporate life of the College "Commemoration Week" is normally held each year at the close ot the Michaelmas Term when various social functions take place in- eluding performances by the Musical and Dramatic Society Dance and an Intercollegiate debate Commemoration Service is held in the College Chapel and an Oration is delivered in the Great Hall PUBLICATIONS The official handbook setting out the rules and constitution of the Society together with information regarding all Clubs and Societies is published annually at the end of October and copies are given to all members King's College Review the literary magazine is published once term and King's News which is of social character appears twice term Contributions for both periodicals are invited from members
