136 FACULTY OF LAWS COURSES OF STUDY I-FOR THE LL DEGREE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LONDON Matriculation Before proceeding to study for the Degree in Laws it is necessary to have passed the Matriculation Examination or be exempted there- from or to have passed the Special University Entrance Examination in the subjects prescribed for the Faculty of Laws by the regulations for this examination copies of which may be obtained from the College Office Detailed particulars of the Examination may be obtained from the College Office or from the Secretary to the Matriculation Council Uni- versity of London present address Richmond College Richmond Surrey The College recommends students who intend to read for the Law Degree to select Latin as one of the subjects for the Matriculation Examination as some knowledge of Latin will be found necessary for the study of Roman Law Special classes are held for those Intermediate students whose Latin is weak Intermediate LL Course The Intermediate Course is one year's course and prepares students for the Intermediate Examination in the following subjects Roman Law English Constitutional Law English Legal System Criminal Law and Procedure or Indian Penal Code and Procedure Final LL Courses The Final LL Course occupies two sessions The Second Year's Course prepares students for the following subjects of the Final Examination General Principles of English Law which includes Contract Tort and Trusts One of the following English Land Law Roman Dutch Law Hindu Law Code Civil Franjais Law of Palestine The Third Year's Course prepares students for the following subjects of the Final Examination Jurisprudence and Legal Theory
