FACULTY OF LAWS 135 Registered students of the University are entitled to admission to the University Library on the recommendation in writing of teacher of the University Social Facilities Students attending any of the Law lectures are eligible for mem- bership of the King's College Faculty of Laws Society and of the University of London Law Society Students who pay composition fee are automatically members of the Union Society of King's College and are thereby entitled to membership of large number of College Societies For further par- ticulars see under General Information and also the Union Society Handbook Law students can be elected members of the United Common Room which consists of reading writing and smoking room The weekly and daily papers are taken The subscription is 5s per annum or 2s per term Students who become students of the University are eligible for membership of the University of London Union Society and Athletic Union King's College Faculty of Laws Society This Society organises the non-academic activities of the students of the Faculty and is the representative of the Faculty in all matters connected with the Union Society of the College It is of the utmost importance that all students should become members that they may play full part in the life of the College Meetings and social functions are held during the year at times convenient to Day and Evening Students The subscription is 2s 6d per annum for Day Students and 2s for Evening Students and should be paid to the Hon Treasurer King's College Old Students Association Laws Branch The Old Students Association of King's College has special branch for students who have been members of the Faculty of Laws The purpose of this branch is to maintain contact with those interested in Law after leaving the College It also maintains Poor Man's Lawyer in Deptford which is supported by members of the branch Further particulars can be obtained from the Hon Secretary Laws Branch King's College University of London Law Society The University of London Law Society was founded in 1906 to give Students opportunity for the discussion of subjects connected with Law study and meets on Tuesdays at during Term at University College The Subscription is 5s per annum Particulars may be obtained from the Hon Secretary at University College Gower Street See note at head of 132
