scholarships and exhibitions 61 of London King's College and has completed the course for the Honours Degree in French of the University of London or has been registered as research student in the Department of French of Uni- versity of London King's College for not less than one academic year The value of the Scholarship is £150 and is normally tenable for one year but may be renewed for further period of one year at the discretion of the Delegacy The Scholarship will be awarded upon the result of special Examination in French Language and Literature to be held at the end of the Easter Term in each year The Scholar is required to reside and regularly attend lectures in an approved University town in France or Belgium The emoluments of the Scholarship will be paid in instalments at such times as may be decided in each case each instalment with the exception of the first which will be paid in advance being payable only on receipt by the College of evidence that the holder of the Scholarship is satisfactorily pursuing her studies Candidates for the Scholarship must send in their names to the Head of the Department of French not later than 30th April Skinners' Company Scbolarsbip The Worshipful Company of Skinners offer Scholarship of £40 for three years tenable at King's College for Women subject to the terms and conditions laid down by the College and to such other regulations as the Company may from time to time prescribe The present conditions of award are the same as those for the Sambrooke Scholarships in Arts and Science Next award 1940 ibercbant aaslors' Company Scbolarsbip Scholarship of £40 year for three years tenable at King's College for Women is offered by the Worshipful Company of Merchant Taylors subject to the conditions and terms laid down by the College and to such other regulations as the Company may from time to time prescribe The present conditions of award are the same as those for the Sambrooke Scholarships in Arts and Science Next award 1938 BURSARIES Centenary Scbolarsbips anb JBnrsaries jfunb University of London King's College The Centenary Scholarships and Bursaries Fund was established in 1929 out of monies subscribed to the Centenary Appeal Fund and ear- marked for Scholarships and Bursaries
