scholarships and exhibitions 57 The Scholarships are of the value of £120 payable in four yearly instalments of £30 and two are offered for competition each year one for an Arts candidate and one for Science candidate Candidates must be under 19 years of age on Dec 31st pre- ceding the examination The Scholarships are offered for competition to candidates men or women preparing to enter the Faculty of Medical Science in the following October The subjects for examination are Divinity and four of the following For Arts candidates English History Latin Greek French German Mathematics For Science candidates Mathematics Applied Mathematics Chemistry Physics Botany Zoology An equal number of marks is allotted to each subject The standard is approximate to that of the London Matriculation The holders of these Scholarships must take the first part of their medical training at King's College and the subjects of the final examination at King's College Hospital The holders of these Scholarships are required to attend the weekly Lecture in Divinity given for all non-Theological Students at an hour reserved for this purpose and to pass such examinations or other tests in the subjects of the Lectures as the Lecturers may from time to time require -N -The fulfilment of these conditions will also qualify the candidate for the Associateship of the College if he graduates in the University Before the payment of these Scholarships the Principal and Dean must receive Certificates on behalf of the Student of good conduct and satisfactory progress of regular attendance at the Divinity and Medical Lectures and Examinations The Scholarships may be held with any other Scholarships at the College so far as the trusts of such other Scholarships permit except the Sambrooke Medical Scholarship The special Divinity subjects for 1938 are St Mark's Gospel Clarendon Bible Modes of Faith Professor Rogers The Examination will be conducted by the London Inter-Collegiate Scholarships Board in May Candidates should apply to Mr Ranner Secretary to the Board King's College Hospital Medical School for form of entry which must be sent in in April FIRST YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS The Scholarship is of the value of £120 payable in four yearly instalments of £30 and will be offered for competition each year The Scholarship is offered for competition to candidates men or women who entered the College in the previous October upon course
