49 SCHOLARSHIPS EXHIBITIONS AND PRIZES RULES Where the rules governing the award of any Studentship Scholar- ship or Exhibition require attendance at the College that attendance must usually be continuous otherwise the Studentship Scholarship or Exhibition is likely to be forfeited unless the holder has obtained leave of absence Studentship Scholarship Exhibition Prize or Medal will not be awarded if the Examiners report that there is no candidate sufficiently well qualified The winner of any Studentship Scholarship Exhibition Prize or Medal is not eligible to compete again for the same Studentship Scholarship Exhibition Prize or Medal unless it is otherwise stated in the conditions of award The payment of the emoluments of Studentships Scholarships and Exhibitions will be made in equal terminal instalments on the production to the Secretary at the end of each term of certificate of good conduct of satisfactory progress and of satisfactory attendance where required signed by the Dean of the Faculty fee of half guinea is charged if certificate is required by Scholar or Prizewinner as to the Scholarship or Prize he has gained For names of present Scholars see reference under Prizewinners יי in Index -IN ALL FACULTIES Odlorsles Scbolarebips Founded in 1834 by Major-General Sir Henry Worsley for the education of Missionaries proceeding to British India These Scholarships are administered by the Council of King's College Candidates must be members of the Church of England The Scholarships are of the total monetary value of £100 paid in annual instalments and are open to both men and women The Scholar also receives free education in the Theological Department of King's College or in University of London King's College and if medical student in King's College Hospital also and is admitted without fee to all Theological lectures in the College Scholar must on election obtain security for the purpose of ensuring that he will proceed as Missionary to India when his education is completed The amount of the bond is £300 Scholar if student in the Theological Department must pursue the regular Course for the or the if student in the Medical Faculty Course for obtaining qualification recognised by the General Medical Council if student in any other Faculty Course for degree in the University of London
