ANNUAL REPORT xxiii Easter Vacation 1936 In Swimming King's headed the Water-Polo Competition and are at present head of the League Games King's women won the Hammersmith Novices' Cup for Ladies' Fours An occasion of some interest was the launching with due ceremony of the Shell Eight for the Women's Boat Club the first shell eight to be specially designed and built for the use of women Unfortunately owing to financial difficulties it has not been possible to arrange camp for unemployed men this year but it is hoped that this will be only temporary break Several lunch-hour variety entertainments were given in the Great Hall in aid of the Lion Club Hoxton during the Session The Club itself is thriving with fine programme of boys' and girls' clubs classes and camps The Club is under the control of strong committee of members of King's College staff and students and representatives of the district REPORTS OF DEPARTMENTS FACULTY OF ARTS DEPARTMENT OF CLASSICS Number of Students Latin Intermediate General Subsidiary Honours Occasional Greek Intermediate General Subsidiary Occasional Classics Honours Postgraduate Totals Day Evening 112 31 35 10 208 39 50 258 Results of Examinations Four candidates took the Examination in Honours Classics Of these candidate obtained First Class Second Class Lower Division and Third Class For Distinctions and Appointments gained by Staff and Students see pp xi-xiv
