χ ANNUAL REPORT wards member of the India Council Sir Murray throughout his life maintained his interest in the College and was member of the Centenary Commemoration Committee Mr Edgar Thurston CLE 1904 former student of the College Lieut -Colonel Ernest William White Emeritus Professor of Psychological Medicine who entered the Faculty of Medical Science in 1869 obtained his in 1874 and held the appointment of Professor of Psychological Medicine in the College from 1890 to 1910 Dr Orlando Inchley Lecturer in Pharmacology in the College from 1920 to 1935 Professor Henry Adams Consulting Engineer and Architect former student of the College who was for thirty-five years Professor of Engineering at the City of London College Sir William Forbes who studied Spanish and Portuguese in the College from 1869 to 1871 and was formerly General Manager of the London Brighton and South Coast Railway Lieut -Colonel George Mitchell AVeekley student of the College from 1873 to 1877 who was elected an Associate in 1883 Mr Henry Wilfred Collins student in the Evening Classes Depart- ment from 1885 to 1893 who received the Diploma in the latter year Throughout his life Mr Collins maintained his connection with the College and for some years was the elected member of the Associates of the College on the Council Mr Fergusson Escombe Sc student in the Faculty of Science from 1892 to 1894 and the winner of the Carter Gold Medal After carrying out important investigations in the Jodrell Laboratory of the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew Mr Escombe held posts in the scientific research laboratory of Messrs Guinness and Company Dublin and later in Wye Agricultural College Dr Griffith Evans distinguished bacteriologist who died at the age of 100 Dr Evans gave voluntary medical assistance to the Federal Army during the American Civil War and afterwards served in India as Veterinary Officer to the where his work in blood parasites was carried out He returned to England in 1885 and continued his research work in the College for some years Mr Turner student in the Faculty of Arts from 1921 to 1924 and postgraduate student from 1925 to 1927 He was Senior History Master at Epsom County School Mr Henry Ward Inst student of the College from 1866 to 1868 He afterwards gained distinction as an engineer and played prominent part in the municipal life of London as member of the London County Council and of the Metropolitan Water Board for over thirty years Mr Ahluwalia student in the Intermediate year in the Faculty of Arts Mr Τ Clarke student in the Faculty of Science from 1932 to 1935 and at the Institute of Education from 1935 to 1936
