ANNUAL REPORT iz Dowding and Mr Edholm Assistant Lecturers in Physiology Mr Edward McLellan Honorary Demonstrator in Anatomy Mr Murray Demonstrator in Anatomy Miss Thomson Demonstrator in Physiology Library -Mr Field Assistant Librarian Mr Euden Assistant Physical Training -Mr Ralph Instructor Deaths op Former Members op the College In addition to the losses of which mention has already been made see iv the deaths of the following have to be recorded Emeritus Professor Rev Prebendary Alfred Caldecott Lit 1906 who was appointed Professor of Mental and Moral Philosophy in 1891 and succeeded Dr Headlam as Dean of King's College in 1913 both of which offices he continued to hold until his resignation on December 31st 1917 For twenty-six years he loyally served the College and upheld its traditions both in the Faculties of Arts and Theology The Rev Canon Percy Dearmer 1928 who held the post of Professor of Ecclesiastical Art on the Theological side of the College until the time of his death and was appointed Lecturer in Art under the Delegacy in 1924 post which he held until 1933 Mr Edwards 1922 Assistant Lecturer in Mathe- matics in the College from 1895 to 1902 and Lecturer from 1902 to 1924 Dr William Nembhard Hibbert 1933 Lecturer in Law in the College from 1898 to 1933 The Rev Alexander Nairne 1909 Canon of Windsor and formerly Regius Professor of Divinity at Cambridge who was Professor of Hebrew in the College from 1900 to 1918 Mr Walter Smith 1906 Secretary of the College from 1895 to 1918 Mr Smith played great part in the affairs of the College in the most difficult period of its history and throughout his Secretaryship served the College with zeal and singleness of purpose Professor William Blair Bell 1928 Emeritus Pro- fessor of Obstetrics and Gynsecology in the University of Liverpool Professor Bell was student of the College from 1890 to 1896 and was awarded the Certificate of Divinity in 1891 the Certificate of Honour in Anatomy in 1892 and the Tanner Prize in 1895 Mr Albert Carless 1908 who joined the Medical School in 1881 and after winning several College Scholarships and Prizes took his degree with Honours in 1886 the degree in 1887 and in the following year the degree of and the Diploma of He held various appointments at King's College Hospital including that of Lord Lister's dresser and in 1898 was appointed Surgeon to the Hospital Sir Murray Hammick 1924 former student of the College who was sometime Acting Governor of Madras and after-
