BENEFACTIONS TO KING'S COLLEGE LONDON 431 The Cotton-Growers' Research Association The renewal of grant of 50 per annum for further years first given in 1933 To the Department of Botany for Research to be carried out under Professor Gates in Regent's Park Courtauld Esq gift of 83Z to the College for the same purpose Professor Ellis Ph Wheatstone Professor of Physics letter given to him by Sir Joseph Larmor addressed by Clerk Maxwell to Sir William Thomson afterwards Lord Kelvin Dr Charles Onions number of books which belonged to Furnivall and Skeat Lady Deller number of Law books from the Library of the late Sir Edwin Deller LL former student of the College and Principal of the University of London Mrs Ε Parsons About 400 books given by the wish of her brother-in-law Mr William Francis Aitkin The Sir Halley Stewart Trust quantity of technical equipment to the value of about 1325 hitherto on loan to the College and partly in use in the Halley Stewart Laboratories For use in research work Mrs D'Oyly Portraits of the Rev George D'Oyly and his wife on loan Dr D'Oyly was Domestic Chaplain to William IV and played very important part in the foundation of the College The portraits hang in the Council Room Edward Clarke Esq photograph of his grandfather Sir Edward Clarke For the Law Library Mrs Wilson Potter microscope suitable for demon- stration purposes For the Department of Zoology
