270 FACULTY OF THEOLOGY To promote meetings each term at which subjects of theological nature are discussed To organise the work of the London Theological Colleges Union to which the Faculty is attached and to interest members in the pastoral and vocational side of their work To supervise the Theological Students' Reading-room The affairs of this society are administered by Committee of Chairman Hon Sec and two members elected annually from the Faculty KING'S COLLEGE CHRISTIAN UNION General Meetings Prayer Meetings and Study Circles are held from time to time MUSICAL SOCIETY Vocal and Instrumental practices are held weekly KING'S COLLEGE UNION SOCIETY The chief aim of the Society is to unify all athletic and social interests in the College Debates are held twice in each of the winter terms in the Large Theatre AH information respecting the Society can be obtained from the Secretary of the Union KING'S COLLEGE REVIEW The King's College Review is issued terminally KING'S COLLEGE THEOLOGICAL HALL Vincent Square Westminster Warden The Reverend Professor Habdman Subwarden The Reverend Enders The Theological Department of King's College was established in 1846 but provision for the training of students by means of full corporate life was first made in 1902 In that year the Vice-Principal the Reverend George Ernest Newsom was instrumental in founding hostel for theological students in Mecklenburgh Square where during ten years the foundations of this important part of the work of theological college were well laid In 1913 the students were transferred to the present hall of residence in Vincent Square which was built at cost of Ā£28 000 and formally opened in 1914 In 1929 this fine building was completed by the addition of west wing in which chapel and library were included The discipline and devotional training of the students resident in Hall is similar to that of other theological colleges the general order of the day being as follows Holy Communion Meditation and Prime Breakfast This Union is now branch of the Student Christian Movement
