237 evening Department Dean of the Department Professor Gordon Sc Sub-Dean Ε Hall GENERAL INFORMATION Classes for Evening Instruction are held in connection with the Faculty of Arts They are intended to provide instruction similar to that given in the daytime for those who are unable to attend the Day Classes Complete schemes of study are arranged for men and women students of the University of London who wish to take the Special Intermediate Arts Examination for Internal Students held at the College These courses provide the minimum number of hours of in- struction required in the year by the University Regulations 192 in Arts but for an evening student who can produce from his or her employer certificate of being employed for not less than 25 hours week this number is reduced to 176 Students are reminded of the importance of their being regular in attendance at lectures as before they can sit for their examinations it is required by the University Regulations that their forms be signed by the Dean testifying to the fact that their attendance has been satisfactory Students who are absent from lectures through illness or other unavoidable cause are requested in their own interests to communicate with the Sub-Dean at the earliest opportunity Complete courses are arranged in the Faculty of Arts for the Inter- mediate Examination the Final Honours Examinations with certain exceptions and for subjects subsidiary to Honours No course for the General Degree is offered Students who desire to follow this course are advised to apply to Birkbeck College In Geography and Psychology only the pr Sc course may be taken Evening Class Students who have matriculated at the University of London and are pursuing full course for the degree and have paid the entrance and composition fees rank as Regular Students of the College Occasional Students are those who while not attending the whole course are desirous of studying some particular subject or subjects Those Students who have passed the Matriculation Examination of the University of London should on entering the College register as Internal Students of the University Registration Schedules can be obtained in the Office and should be completed within one month of entry Special Intermediate Examination is held at the College for Registered Internal Students
