214 FACULTY OF ENGINEERING Ho must pass the following Examinations unless otherwise exempted The College Entrance Examination before entry The First Year Examination The Second Year Examination The Third Year Examination candidate who fails to sit for the First Year Examination at the appropriate time or fails in four subjects at that examination or fails to satisfy the Faculty as to sufficient progress in his work for the Second Year Examination will not except for special reasons be allowed to repeat the course The Diploma will not be awarded to candidate who having entered for the Diploma only fails to qualify for it within three years of his entering upon his Second Year course Associate Students of the University Students taking courses for the Diploma or Certificate other than Degree Students may apply for registration through the College as Associate Students of the University The application for registra- tion accompanied by fee of 10 6d in the case of students who have not matriculated must be made within three months of the commencement of the course No student may register as an Associate Student who is also registered as an Internal or External student card will be sent by the Academic Registrar notifying the student of his registration On completion of the course Certificate that the course has been completed will be issued on application through the College to the University COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION This Examination will only be held if suitable candidates ofier themselves Applications for permission to take the Examination must be received by the Secretary of the Cofiege not later than October 1st They must state the subjects offered by the candidate and be accompanied by the fee of £2 2s If the examination is held it will take place early in October Candidates who have received permission to sit will be supplied with time-table SYLLABUS OF EXAMINATION Candidates are required to satisfy the Examiners in the following subjects English one paper of hours general paper comprising questions in Literature History and Geography
