210 FACULTY OF ENGINEERING In each subject excepting Mathematics the Examination shall include the Examination of Course Work The standard of the question papers and of the Course Work for this Examination shall be such as is generally recognised as suitable for candidates who have just completed one academic year after passing the Intermediate Examination Candidates for an Honours degree will be required to satisfy the Examiners in Strength and Elasticity of Materials and in Mathematics and in at least four of the remaining subjects set out in Clause It shall be within the discretion of the Board of Examiners to refer candidate in not more than one subject candidate who has been referred in subject under Clause shall be allowed to present himself for the Examination in that subject at the next succeeding Part Examination but the marks awarded at this Examination shall not exceed fixed minimum required to satisfy the Examiners Η he fail to pass in the subject at the next succeeding Examination he shall be required on re-entry to take the whole of Part The standard attained in the Part Examination shall be taken into account in the classification for Honours at the end of the final year Candidates who fail to satisfy the Examiners in not more than two of the subjects of the Part Examination shall be eligible to proceed to the Part II Examination for the Pass Degree only Candidates who have satisfied the Examiners in the Part Examination or have been referred in one subject under Clause or are allowed to proceed as candidates for the Pass Degree only under Clause shall be eligible to present themselves for the Part II Examina- tion after having satisfactorily attended approved courses extending over not less than one academic year subsequent to the Part Examina- tion in each of the subjects offered for the Part II Examination 10 The subjects of the Part II Examination shall be as follows Theory and Design of Machines One paper of three hours Hydraulics do Theory of Heat Engines Two papers of three hours each Theory and Design of Structures do Geodesy and Quantities do Design and Construction of Public Works do Electrical Power do Electrical Design do Engineering Geology One paper of three hours Engineering Metallurgy do fc Mathematics One or two papers of three hours each In each subject excepting Engineering Geology Engineering Metal- lurgy and Mathematics the Examination shall include the Examination of Course Work
