FACULTY OF ENGINEERING 209 FINAL Sc Engineering COURSES In their second and third years Students take the Courses for the Final Pass or Honours Sc Engineering Examination student who fails to satisfy the Faculty as to sufficient progress in his work for the Part Sc Examination will not except for special reasons be allowed to repeat the course The University Regulations governing the Courses and the Examination for Students of the College are as follows The Examination for the Degree of Sc Engineering both Pass and Honours shall consist of two parts namely Part and Part II The fee for the whole Examination is Six Guineas The entry form when completed must be forwarded together with the fee to the Academic Registrar of the University not later than February 20th after which date no entries can be received The time-table of the Examination will be furnished by the Univer- sity to each candidate showing both the time and place of the examina tion in each subject The Examiners shall be at liberty to test any candidate by means of viva-voce questions Candidates who have passed or have been exempted from the Intermediate Engineering Examination shall be eligible to present themselves for the Part Examination after having satisfactorily attended approved courses extending over not less than one academic year in each of the subjects comprised within that Examination If candidate has been referred in any subject in the Intermediate Examina- tion or has been allowed under the Regulations for Advanced Students proceeding to Bachelor's Degree or under the Regulations for Internal Students in the Faculty of Engineering whose courses vary from the Normal University Red Book to complete the Inter- mediate Examination in certain specified subjects during or at the end of the second-year course he shall none the less be eligible to present himself for the Part Examination provided that he has satisfied the foregoing condition as to attendance although the Examination would take place in the same year as that in which the candidate completes the Intermediate Examination The subjects of the Part Examination shall be as follows Strength and Elasticity of Materials One paper of three hours Theory and Design of Machines do Hydraulics do Theory of Heat Engines do Surveying do Electrical Technology do Mathematics Two papers of three hours each
