202 faculty OF MEDICAL SCIENCE The Junior Course is designed to suit those beginning the subject and deals with it systematically Students may begin in October or January but preferably the former In the Senior Course the more difficult parts of the subject are dealt with and more time is spent on those aspects of the subject which are more closely allied to Medicine and Surgery The Lectures are supplemented by tutorial classes and by lecture demonstrations -Practical Physiology Junior and Senior-Experimental Physiology and Chemical Physiology during Michaelmas and Lent Terms Y3 -Histology The microscopical structure of the body Lectures and Practical Easter The practical work is arranged to accompany the Lectures Each Student must provide himself with set of minor accessory instru- ments but the microscopes and materials including slides are supplied in the laboratory Tutorial Classes Michaelmas Lent and Easter Terms These classes are designed to assist Students preparing for immediate examinations up to the standard of the Primary Students preparing for the latter examination are strongly advised to take all the Senior practical classes if they have not already done so and to attend the lecture demonstrations which they may do without extra fee Pharmacology course of Instruction in Pharmacology is given commencing in the Michaelmas Term consisting of Lectures Tutorial Class Demon- strations and Practical Experimental Pharmacology The Materia Medica Museum is designed for the use of students and is open to them throughout the day Physiology for Dental Students separate course is held for Dental Students whole Session -Research etc The laboratory is available to all who wish to carry out original investigations and instruction wiU be given to those who require it Details may be obtained from the Professor Sc Special in Physiology Special facilities are given to selected medical students who wish to take this degree which they may do on completion of their 2nd examination and before they commence their hospital work This oourse in which several of the other Schools of the University take part is recommended to those who are likely later to seek appoint- ments in the many allied branches of medical science
