192 FACULTY OF MEDICAL SCIENCE Student who has failed to pass all the subjects of an examination within year of the due date in which he should sit for that examina- tion will not except for special reasons be allowed to continue his course in the College It is desirable that students should enter if possible at the commence- ment of the Michaelmas term SCHOLARSHIPS PRIZES AND CERTIFICATES Entrance Scholarships -Two or more Warneford Entrance Scholar- ships of £30 year for four years and one Sambrooke Scholarship in Medical Science of £30 for three years will be offered in 1936 At the end of the First Tear of study The Warneford Scholarship £120 the Rabbeth Scholarships £30 and £15 the Carter Gold Medal and Prize in Botany and the Hare Prize in Zoology are open for competition At the end of the Third Tear the Hughes Prize in Anatomy the Huxley Prize in Physiology the Inchley Prize in Pharmacology the Pickering Prize in Biochemistry and the Jelf Medal are open for Competition The Layton £150 and the Berridge Research Studentships £100 the Daniell Scholarship in Chemistry £40 Warneford Prizes £25 and £15 Leathes Prize Barry Prize &c &0 -are also open to Students of this Faculty The majority of the Scholarships and Prizes are open to Regular Students only For full details of Scholarships and Prizes see Index The Worsley Scholarship for men or women who undertake to proceed to India as Missionaries on the completion of their course is also available REGISTRATION AND ADMISSION OF MEDICAL STUDENTS Every Medical Student is advised to register the commencement of his professional studies at the Office of the General Medical Counoil No Student is allowed to register unless he produces Certificate of having passed preliminary Examination in Arts and Pre-Registration Examination in Science Amongst the Arts Examinations recognised are the Matriculation Examination of the University of London the Oxford and Cam- bridge School Certificate Examinations and the Senior Examina- tion of the College of Preceptors The choice of Preliminary Examination in Arts will depend upon the particular Degree or Diploma which the Student proposes to acquire The Matricula- tion Examination at the University of London takes place thrice year in January June and September respectively Examinations in Arts are held by the College of Preceptors four times year viz in the months of March June September and December
