FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCE 171 Special Sc Chemistry Students Students who have passed the Intermediate Soience examination and who wish to proceed to an Honours degree with Chemistry as the special subject should consult the Head of the Department The course to be followed lasts two years In both years as much time as possible is spent in the Honours laboratories Physics is required as the subsidiary subject General Sc and Subsidiary Chemistry Students Such Students attend in the first session Lecture Classes and and in their second session Zt and Z5 working six hours per week during each year in the Laboratory Advanced Courses and Research Work Facilities for carrying out research work either independently or under the direction of members of the staff are afforded in the Department Post-graduate courses on special subjects are given during each session General Sc Courses Intermediate -Lectures Tu Th and 11-12 -Practical Class F6-3 and 2nd Term 10-1 Sc General and Subsidiary 2nd Year -Physical Chemistry 11-12 -Organic Chemistry 11-12 -Practical Class Th 10-1 and 2-6 Z4 -Inorganic Chemistry 10-11 3rd Term only jB Sc General and Subsidiary 3rd Year Z5 -Organic Chemistry 12-1 Ze -Inorganic Chemistry 12-1 -Practical Class Th 10-1 and 2-6 Special Sc Courses Second Year -Inorganic Chemistry 31 2-3 2nd Term and 11-12 -Organic Chemistry 31 and 11-12 and 2-3 in 3rd Term -Physical Chemistry and 12-1 and 10-11 2-3 lst Term 10-11 3rd Term A4 -Special Course in Mathematics for Honours Chemistry Students Tu 10-11 Michaelmas Term and first half of Lent Term As -Special Course in German for Honours Chemistry Students Tu 10-11 Second half of Lent Term and Easter Term -Practical Class 10-6 Tu Th 10-5 and 10-1
